Astra and NextBike in the spotlight in the Nièvre department

Our team presented ASTRA and NextBike to the Nièvre Department in Varennes-Vauzelles (58). Thus, we showed, on site, how these two tools help assess and maintain roads and greenways.

Context of the presentation

First, the session was held in the presence of elected officials and technical teams, with Le Journal du Centre. Then, we delivered a clear demonstration of the measurements, use cases, and benefits for operations.

Focus on ASTRA

In practice, ASTRA collects, in a single pass, the key data needed to analyze pavement condition. It measures distance, longitudinal evenness, transverse evenness, macrotexture, and other indicators. As a result, it provides a precise and repeatable assessment of the road network.

Focus on NextBike

Moreover, NextBike is an instrumented bike with sensors and GPS. It takes photos and records the condition of greenways: assets, defects, and maintenance needs. Thus, it supports short- and mid-term decisions.
