[MISSION] – Load-bearing capacity check at Haut Cabardès wind farm 🌀🔎
Our Mediterranean agency, in collaboration with our Narbonne laboratory, recently carried out a mission on behalf of CEPE du Haut Cabardès (Centrale Eolienne de Production d’Energie), a loyal customer for five years already. 🤝
The work took place at the Haut Cabardès wind farm, located near the village of Pradelles-Cabardès in the Aude department, some ten kilometers from the Tarn-Aude border. 📍
🎯 Mission objective
Check the load-bearing capacity of the platforms prior to the installation of the crane equipment required for wind turbine maintenance.
Mission stakes ⤵
During maintenance operations, particularly when replacing parts on wind turbines, it is crucial that the platforms on which crane equipment is positioned have sufficient bearing capacity to guarantee the safety and efficiency of operations.
To ensure that platforms have adequate load-bearing capacity, we carry out plate tests at the crane skid location to validate the platform’s load-bearing capacity before the lifting equipment is positioned. ✔
Caution ⚠
For safety reasons, before any maintenance is carried out on the wind turbines, the platforms must have been inspected within less than 6 months. If the measured bearing capacities do not meet the required specifications, earthworks are undertaken. Once this work has been completed, we intervene again to carry out a second bearing capacity check and ensure that the platform now complies with safety standards.
