Continuous measure of the longitudinal evenness

The APL, an mlpc vehicle which meets the criteria of the NF 98 218-3, ISO 8608 and EN 13036-6:2008 standards, is used for the following applications:

  • The APL -profilometer- system allows the continuous measure of the longitudinal evenness of road carriageways and aeronautical runways and, more generally, of any lane used by motor vehicles, whatever the structure of the carriageway and the nature of its overlaying.
  • The measure is based on a survey of the longitudinal profile of the pavement, in one or two traces: the analysis of this profile makes it possible to deduce the evenness characteristics of the pavement surface.

Dynaplaque 2, vehicle mlpc which meets the criteria of standard NF P 94 117-2 will be used for the following applications:

• Measurement of the deformability of earthworks formation level and capping layer.

• determination of their homogeneity during construction.

• assessment of the bearing capacity and fatigue behaviour of structures such as parking lots, construction site tracks, forestry or agricultural lanes.

Falling weight deflectometer

The HWD/FWD is a device for determining the bearing capacity of pavement. It is composed of a falling weight that generates an impulse loading on the pavement surface by means of a rigid plate and a damping system.

The deflections generated are measured by means of geophones placed under and around the plate.

ASTM E2100-04

Automatic Skid Resistance Measureing Instrument

The IMAG is the reference device for the measure of the IRFI (International Friction Index on airport runways), a device licensed by Aéroports de Paris which meets the criteria of the ASTM E2100-04 standard, and which is used for the following applications:

  • An operational evaluation of winter season skid resistance in operating conditions.
  • A functional evaluation of skid resistance outside the winter season (water film measure).

The IMAG has been approved as a continuous skid resistance measuring device by the Civil Aviation Technical Service / Directorate General of Civil Aviation, in accordance with the TAC decree of 10 July 2006.

The IMAG complies with the recommendations of ICAO Annex 14.
