EXTERNAL QUALITY CONTROL OF ROADWORKS
Infrastructure projects require a high level of technical expertise, compliance, and risk management.
NextRoad supports project owners, engineering consultants, contractors, and operators in their external inspection and quality control missions for construction works.
Our teams work on all types of infrastructure projects: roads, highways, cycle paths, airport runways, industrial and logistics infrastructure, private developments, and civil engineering structures.
Our services cover the design, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover phases to ensure compliance of the works, quality of materials, and long-term durability of the infrastructure.
Secure your projects and ensure the quality of construction works.
Our external inspection services
NextRoad provides external inspection and quality control services tailored to road, urban, industrial, and airport infrastructure projects.
Our services include:
- review of design studies and technical documentation,
- quality monitoring of construction works,
- material inspection and testing,
- on-site and laboratory testing,
- independent verification and cross-check inspections,
- handover assistance,
- compliance verification of completed works.
Our teams are involved at every stage of the project to ensure the quality of the executed works and the compliance of infrastructure with technical and regulatory requirements.
Vérification des études et documents techniques
- analysis of calculation notes,
- verification of execution drawings,
- review of design assumptions and sizing criteria,
- assessment of construction methods,
- analysis of technical interfaces,
- consistency checks of design studies,
- verification of regulatory compliance.
This service helps reduce the risk of non-compliance and ensures the technical consistency of the project before construction begins.
Quality control of construction works and materials
NextRoad carries out on-site quality control missions to verify the compliance of completed works and the quality of materials used.
Our teams notably provide:
- earthworks inspection,
- subgrade layer inspection,
- pavement inspection,
- asphalt inspection,
- concrete inspection,
- utility networks and civil works inspection,
- civil engineering structure inspection,
- on-site quality monitoring,
- independent verification testing,
- assistance with works handover.
External inspection helps ensure compliance with technical requirements, contractual specifications, and applicable standards for infrastructure projects.
Our quality control methodology
To ensure effective quality control, we intervene at different stages of the construction process:
- inspection of material installation and application,
- verification of layer thicknesses and application conditions,
- compaction control,
- verification of material properties,
- on-site testing,
- laboratory testing,
- analysis of test results,
- validation of works compliance.
This methodology ensures comprehensive quality monitoring of infrastructure projects and helps reduce the risks of defects, improper implementation, and costly rework.
Laboratory testing and on-site inspections
In addition to on-site inspections, NextRoad relies on its laboratories to carry out testing on the main materials used in infrastructure and public works projects.
Our teams perform testing on:
- asphalt mixes,
- bitumen,
- aggregates,
- concrete,
- soils,
- cement,
- emulsions.
We also carry out:
- compaction testing,
- bearing capacity testing,
- plate load testing,
- geotechnical inspections,
- pavement testing,
- non-destructive testing,
- infrastructure assessments,
- measurements and instrumentation.
These tests help verify mechanical performance, regulatory compliance, and the long-term durability of materials and infrastructure.
Independent expertise dedicated to your infrastructure projects
NextRoad provides project owners, contractors, and operators with independent expertise dedicated to infrastructure and public works inspection. Our teams combine:
- field expertise,
- materials engineering,
- geotechnical expertise,
- laboratory testing capabilities,
- construction site monitoring,
- technical assistance,
- quality control,
- infrastructure engineering expertise.
We adapt our services to the specific constraints of each project to ensure compliance, quality, and long-term durability of the completed works.
OBTAINING CE MARKING
Objective
Relying on our control and testing laboratories, we carry out regular annual production monitoring for asphalt plants, quarries, etc., on materials subject to CE marking: bitumen, emulsions, cements, asphalt mixes, and aggregates. The consistency of the results obtained (over a given period and a minimum number of tests) makes it possible to classify the quality of the various characteristics of the tested material, declare its properties, and, where applicable, affix a CE label.
We also support civil engineering material manufacturers in quality management: we assist them in drafting their quality manual in compliance with CE marking requirements, and we support them in conducting their audits.
