Following a recent mission with Highways of Morocco (ADM), NextRoad returned to Casablanca to organize a conference on road pavement inspection in Morocco. The event took place on December 20, 2023, at the Hassania School of Engineers (EHTP).
During the conference, NextRoad experts shared their experience with students and road professionals. In addition, ADM teams presented their work on highway maintenance and pavement assessment.
NextRoad experts shared their technical knowledge with engineering students and professionals. The objective was to explain why regular road pavement inspection is essential for maintaining safe and durable transport infrastructures.
Why pavement condition assessment is important
Regular pavement inspections help road operators evaluate the condition of highways and road networks. These assessments support maintenance planning and improve long-term infrastructure performance.
Road pavement inspection also helps identify:
- structural deterioration,
- surface damage,
- traffic-related wear,
- maintenance priorities.
Then, teams use the collected data to choose the best repair solutions.
Collaboration with ADM and EHTP
The conference strengthened cooperation between NextRoad, ADM and the Hassania School of Engineers (EHTP). It also created an opportunity to share expertise in road asset inspection and infrastructure management.
Before starting any pavement assessment campaign, it is important to collect and analyze historical network data. This approach allows engineers to produce a more accurate pavement diagnosis and optimize maintenance strategies.
